Description
Preparation: To reconstitute the equivalent of a can of coconut milk, use 90 to 100 g of powder for 300 ml of water, approximately one part of powder for 3 parts of liquid. The powder is whipped into the liquid to dissolve. This achieves the same fat content as in premium canned milk.
Shelf life: The original 15 kg format has a shelf life of 18 months. Once opened, it must be consumed within 6 months and stored in an airtight container, preferably in the refrigerator.
Le lait de coco en poudre est un produit très polyvalent, aux multiples usages culinaires autant à la maison qu’en production commerciale. It can be used in all recipes such as curries, coconut milk soup and “fauxmage”, or for drinks such as golden milk, hot chocolate, smoothies and lassis!
Less waste, less food waste, less fossil energy used
If we compare powdered and canned coconut milk, for the same volume of product once water is added to the powdered milk, the latter presents a significant packaging saving. It is therefore a reduction at the source of materials and resources.
Also, it is rare to use an entire can of coconut milk for a recipe, and once opened, the milk will only keep for 2 or 3 days. With coconut milk powder, it is possible to use only the necessary amount and avoid waste.
Finally, a product without water and with little packaging also means much less energy spent on transport, with reduced volume and weight.
